... how to use a PC Well, dear reader, to quote Jane Austen, this is different. New territory. I wonder why I'm doing this. Must be mad. Millions of blogs out there, and I'm joining in? hmmm.
Is there a self-check for people, as well as computers? If so, I might need one!
Actually, I'm just curious, having read so many blogs myself, as to how one starts, so... I decided to.
As a vaguely computer-literate woman, in the lazy way that anyone who uses a PC for a living has, I thought I'd write a blog. Ah, but can there be a "life less ordinary" than mine out there? Work, sleep, pay bills, play (oh too infrequently), work, sleep. Some self-indulgence, please, dear reader.
I've tried learning the basics before hitting that "publish post" button, which lurks too easily under the typing box. Even so, I have a feeling this will be like driving a car; the theory is easy to understand, the reality is very VERY different!
Ah, the psychology of the blog. Already I can see myself hitting and regretting. I'm sure it happens all the time. I am also watching my "!" count - I have this ghastly habit of over-using the exclamation mark.
Today (getting back to the title of the post - oh yes, I do go "off topic" so easily), I used my PC to find out: how to unblock my drain; buy new tyres for the car; "talk" to my friend in America; recipes; cat injuries; work (of course); and view a few blogs. Yet, a few years ago, before I was online at home, I'd have spent literally hours trying to find out the same answers.
Does anyone else have PC fever? Actually, I'm sure that's a very stupid question. Anyone with regular web access has it to a lesser or greater degree. Some are more addicted than others.
When I first was online, I was shocked to find myself still on here at 3am, when I had to get up at 5.30 for work. And weekends of course, did not exist. It was one long session sat at a rickety old PC, which threw me off at a whim.
